Professor dr. iur. Alexander J. Belohlavek is attorney-at-law in Prague / Czech Republic since nearly 35 years. He is also professor of economics on the Faculty of Economics in Ostrava / Czech Republic and professor of international law on the Faculty of Law University of West-Bohemia in Pilsen / Czech Republic. Professor Belohlavek has also a long history as arbitrator while being honoured to serve as co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator or chairman of the Tribunal in over 600 arbitrations all over the world. He is listed as arbitrator with over 30 permanent arbitration institutions worldwide. He also served as arbitrator in many arbitrations pursuant to UNCITRAL Rules as well as in investor-state arbitrations, he is panelist for resolution of disputes arising out of Trade Agreements between EU and Non-Member-States (pursuant to the decision of the EU Commission of 2022) etc. His biography containes over 150 books and other treatises (as a sole author, co-author or editor) and over 500 articles. Professor Belohlavek also presented lectures and speaches at over 200 conferences and congresses since 1990. He used to be member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for three terms (nine years), President of the WJA (the World Jurist Association). He is currently also a Vice-President of the PRIAC – International Arbitration Court in Prague of the Czech Commodity Exchange and he is also a member of many international organizations and boards.
