She graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2001. In addition to the experience she gained in her profession, she has devoted her time and energy to the rights of the disabled in Turkey as a volunteer, considering the difficulties brought by visual impairment since the age of 10. In 2014, she founded the Guide Dogs Association with Maggie Moore, the wife of the then British Ambassador Richard Moore. Tunçer, who is the President of the association, also works to improve the legal status and living standards of the visually impaired, provide them with employment and educational opportunities. Together with Kara, Turkeyâs first Guide Dog, whom she calls my two eyes, she develops projects to raise awareness about guide dogs in society. She received an award in the Sabancı Foundationâs âMaking a Differenceâ Project for her Social Responsibility Work. She was selected as the âMost Innovative Women of 2020â role model by the London-based Global Thinkers Forum, which consists of international female thought leaders. She was featured in the book âFrom Women to the Worldâ published by the same institution. In 2022, the photo taken by Sebastian Böttcher with the photography project âI, You: A Pebbleâ inspired by this book was exhibited in England together with the extraordinary works of visionary women from all over the world. As part of the awareness activities it carried out, the âCommemorative Stampâ and âFirst Day Envelopeâ for Guide Dogs were put into service by PTT on March 4, 2020.
