Kutalmış is a dedicated lawyer with a vast knowledge and network in energy field, offering comprehensive regulatory and compliance guidance to businesses in this particular field. His expertise spans major energy contract negotiations and energy-related dispute resolution. With a strong background in energy market design and trading, he currently contributes to technical assistance projects in Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
Kutalmis also has significant legal and diplomatic experience, having worked for the Energy Charter Secretariat to represent Türkiye as a member of the International Ukraine Task Force.
Currently based in Brussels, he serves as a legal expert for an energy consultancy and holds the position of General Secretary for Türkiye in the Zero Emissions Traders Alliance based in Abu Dhabi.
Kutalmis holds an LLM from King’s College London, where his thesis focused on the Energy Charter Treaty and the Green Transition. He is currently pursuing a second master’s degree at the Brussels School of Competition, specializing in EU state aid law and global competitiveness in the context of the energy transition.
